In an effort to benefit the publishing sector, starting yesterday and until October 31, 2025, publishing houses can apply for the 2025 paper bonus, a tax credit for expenses incurred on paper used for printing newspapers and periodicals in 2024.
The application is submitted only online at the portal impresainungiorno.gov.it, by logging in with Spid, Cns or Cie, in the section "Telematic counter of publishing support measures."

Bonus features

Concerns only paper used to print newspapers and periodicals:

  • excluding free, pornographic or mail-order products;
  • the grant is worth 30 percent of expenses, within a national ceiling of 60 million euros;
  • cannot be combined with other similar incentives;
  • if the funds are not enough, they will be distributed proportionally among the applicants.

Required documents

Attached to the application should be:

  • an Excel format invoice statement with expenditure data (without advertising or VAT), first uploaded in .xlsx and then in .p7m with digital signature;
  • The statutory auditor's certification confirming the expenses.

Target audience

Companies that:

  • Have headquarters in EU/EEA and tax residence in Italy (or permanent establishment in the country);
  • operate under Ateco code 58.12 (newspapers) or 58.13 (magazines);
  • Are registered in the Register of Communication Operators (Roc);
  • Are not in liquidation or under insolvency proceedings.

Credit utilization

Dopo la valutazione delle richieste, il Dipartimento per l’Informazione e l’Editoria pubblicherà l’elenco dei beneficiari. Il credito sarà utilizzabile in compensazione con il modello F24 (codice 6974) dal quinto giorno lavorativo successivo.
